Why can't I use Wi-Spy with Chanalyzer 3.0?
This was a tough decision for us to make since we have always
supported the original Wi-Spy v1 hardware with every software release,
even if it involved workarounds and separate sections of code. Looking
at our Chanalyzer 3.x roadmap we realized that there are more and more
features that don't work well with the reduced resolution of the Wi-Spy

What's the difference between Wi-Spy and Wi-Spy 2.4x?
Wi-Spy 2.4x has 3 times the frequency resolution, 3 times the amplitude
resolution, 2 times the amplitude and has an external antenna connector
allowing high gain or directional antennas. See our comparison page.
Wi-Spy Comparison
There are significant differences between the original Wi-Spy and the Wi-Spy 2.4x. Most importantly, the quality and accuracy of the graph displayed by the 2.4x has vastly improved from its predecessor. Please take note of the improvements on this 802.11g spectrum scan.
