v3.1 and the WiFi Scan

Just downloaded the new v3.1... very cool
Used it on a Trouble shooting trip yesterday.

Chanalyzer kept crashing over and over when using my external PCI WiFi Card.
Ended up using a Linksys USB WiFi adapter... things went great.
Guess there's a few bugs in there still.

1) Big Question regarding the WiFi Scan Mode:

In NetStumbler, the program will disable "Wireless Zero Configuration". That way, the WiFi card is not trying to connect to anything while it's scanning for other AP's.

Is v3.1 doing the same???
It doesn't seem to be!

I've got the WiSpy device in one USB and my WiFi Card in the other USB.
The WiFI card is connecting to other available AP's and just causing more RF noise that the adjacent WiSPY device is scanning for.

I ended up having to manually turn off Wireless Zero Configuration to ensure the WiFi card would not connect to anything and start transmitting while I was scanning.

2)
If I plug in my AP and let Chanalyzer Scan in the WiFi Mode, it will of course detect the AP

When I power off my AP, and shut down Chanalyzer, you would think that it would start from scratch when starting Chanalyzer back up. But it doesn't.

Restarting Chanalyzer and starting the scanning mode feature brings back all the AP's that it had saw before the program was quit,

Even though my AP was not powered on during the re-starting of Chanalyzer.
This caused me some issue when I went from one location to another.
Makes it look like your chasing White Rabbits ;-)

Is there a way to clear the memory??

Love the product!!!!

Is there any way you can email the error report to support at metageek.net?  We would love to work on this and get it resolved!

Thanks,

Trent

This is a Windows bug. Chanalyzer doesn't store any of the Wi-Fi data,
and we have no way to determine whether Windows is giving us stale data
or not...
