Chanalyzer Software included
The Wi-Spy DBx includes Chanalyzer 4, MetaGeek's fast and powerful spectrum analysis software. It includes the ability to record and playback Wi-Spy data to troubleshoot Wi-Fi and non-Wi-Fi activity in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.
Planar View
Chanalyzer offers the traditional Spectrum Analyzer view with Max, Average and Current.
Topographic View
The Topographic View is a key feature in Chanalyzer. Similar to a density map, MetaGeek uses a special color scheme to assign colors to frequency amplitude points that are being used in the 2.4 GHz and 5.8GHz band. This is a great resource for identifying devices with very low duty cycles.
Spectral View
We like to call this the Waterfall View. The Spectral View graphs the amplitude levels over time. It is in this view where you'll notice some odd amplitude levels around noon-only to discover the company microwaves in the company kitchen were clobbering your WLAN.
